The Lawn was developed in the spring and summer of 2005, and made its debut in The Cornell Daily Sun on September 20th, 2005. The Lawn is created by Liz Popolo, '08 Human Ecology, originally from the Boston area. She has been involved with art for most of her life, and has been cartooning for the past seven years. Liz originally began drawing the characters of The Lawn on her class notes in high school, as commentators on subjects such as calculus and chemistry (oddly, Liz's weakest subjects). Eventually, she began creating dialogues between different characters and drawing a wider variety of creature types. She now keeps a book of finished comics.
